It appears that it is test time. The high school students in my library are dealing with SAT and AP tests, all while trying to finish junior thesis papers and senior projects. When I was in high school, you could hire a tutor or buy a study guide from the bookstore. Now there are practice tests available online that provide instant scores!
My library recently subscribed to a database that offers practice tests and test preparation. I've noticed that several other public libraries in the area also have Learning Express available to their patrons. It seems like a good solution. More patrons have simultaneous access, whereas you are limited with the print version to the number of books on your shelf. Plus, it's a lot harder to lose or steal the database! We are able to carry more local and civil test books in print, but for the high demand items like GED, SAT, CBEST, TOEFL, and Law Enforcement tests, the database is great!
The internet has made studying and taking tests even easier...and you can do it from home in your pajamas!
